February 2024: Theater Merit Badge
Close Encounters of the Undead Kind
Wendy walks into a typical teen support group. Claire thinks Halloween is going to be humdrum as usual. Rachel wants her parents to be nice to her new boyfriend. Three ordinary scenarios… or are they? Is that a werewolf at the support group? A vampire at the door? A zombie boyfriend? With some close encounters of the undead kind, these plays are far from typical and humdrum!
With quick humour and fabulous characters this is not your ordinary collection. The plays can be performed individually or all together for a ghoulishly delightful evening.
Hoodie
Middle schoolers face a tornado of questions every day. What do I wear? What if I wear the wrong thing? What is she wearing? What do I look like? Stop looking at me!
Hoodie examines image and appearance in the vignette style and poses what may be the most difficult question of all – Do I stay in the clump or do I stand alone?
Monster Problems
Starting high school can be nerve-wracking and problem-filled. Am I going to fit in? Am I going to be popular? Will I have the right reputation? What if I do something that ruins the rest of high school?
Olivia, Sam and Brooke are overwhelmed. They think about these problems all day, every day to the point that things are getting rather monstrous. They are going to have to deal with their problems or risk being consumed. Vampires, Zombies, and Snakes oh my! What happens when problems get the best of you?
The Plucky Pie Murder
The star quarterback of Riverview High School has been charged with murder most fowl! Rooster, to be precise.
Plucky the mascot has been done in and all fingers point to the football player - even his own.
A farce of a trial ensues featuring an inept judge, an unprepared defence lawyer, and an Egg-Girl.
