Equipment Rental

Bear Kegs are plastic, bear proof containers suitable for storing food in the wilderness.

The primary advantage of using a Bear Keg is that there is no need to hang a bear bag. This makes them suitable for use in environments where trees are scarce or fragile.

The primary disadvantage of the Bear Keg is that it is quite a bit heavier than a bear bag. Some areas, however, require the use of a hard plastic container.

Bear Kegs should left 100 yards from camp over night. Each can hold food for two people for 2-3 days.

We have eight kegs available for rent. We rent these out to scout groups near central Kentucky. Bear Kegs must be picked up locally; we do not ship them.

Rental Cost for Non Scout Groups: $3 per barrel per day

Rental Cost for Scout Groups: $2 per barrel per day

(Rental from a company that would have to ship can average about $8 per day when factoring in shipping)
